colorfy is a data and insights-driven innovation company, where design meets engineering. We create products and services that have a meaningful impact on the world and help other businesses launch their ideas in our B2B consultancy. With our interdisciplinary team of hardware, embedded and software engineers as well as designers and product managers, colorfy has to offer more.

We often start with business development, business modeling, and digitalization concepts for our customers from scratch. Being data-driven, research and analysis is an integral part of colorfy's work. Our teams thereafter design and engineer the necessary software and hardware, build prototypes and accompany our customers in an iterative approach, until we reach mass production and, in many cases, even further.

We’re looking for an IoT Embedded System Engineer to join our growing team in Berlin. We’re especially fond of good communicators, creative thinkers, problem solvers, and hands-on team players. You join our cross-functional team to develop and deliver IoT solutions with a continuous focus on the circular economy.

You are part of…

An ambitious team brings together research, design, technology, and business to shape future services. At the same time, the team combines our customers’ visions with colorfy’s insights to drive our strategic thinking and put people at the center of everything we do.

Designing the future, we engage in a learning and feedback culture. We develop and practice new skills and evolve our disciplines.

Engineering is our starting point for innovation and is best paired with smart and intuitive design. That’s why we pride ourselves on creating a work environment that meets our expectations with an internally designed office and cutting-edge technology. It allows the team to lead, get involved, be creative, and have fun.

Our technology stack…

  • SOCs: Qualcomm, NXP, TI, Espressif, Nordic
  • Communication technologies: Wifi, BLE, IEEE 802.15.4
  • OS: Embedded Linux (Buildroot, Yocto), FreeRTOS, ThreadX
  • Programming languages: C, C++, Dart, Go, Python
  • Frameworks: Qt, Flutter
  • Cooperation: Jira, Git, Confluence, Slack, Miro

You are responsible for…

  • You design and develop embedded system software and hardware end to end from concept until production.
  • You work with designers, product managers, front- and backend software engineers in interdisciplinary teams depending on project type and project phase.
  • Based on your experience, you interface with clients, engineering partners, and suppliers along the product development process.

You succeed in this role…

  • With experience in writing robust communication software on resource constrained RTOS or Linux platforms
  • With experience in reviewing hardware designs and bring-up embedded Linux / RTOS systems
  • Loving using Linux, Git, and GNU toolchains
  • Having a good understanding of using IP based protocols, such as MQTT, SSL, and HTTP from an application-level view
  • Having a good understanding of using wireless protocols, such as WIFI, BLE, or others from an application-level view.
  • Possessing a great affinity for technology, and you love learning how to use new technologies and programming languages along with your project work
  • Being able to work on overlapping projects in ever-changing technological fields
  • Having professional proficiency in speaking and writing in English

You set yourself apart…

  • Experience in hardware engineering and CAE tools
  • Affinity for design and UX
  • Having professional proficiency in speaking German
  • Strong experience in translating high-level product requirements into executable embedded system hardware and software architectures

In return, we offer you…

Dive into exciting projects with startups, corporations, and everything in-between. Sharpen and develop your talents working in interdisciplinary, cross-cultural teams on new challenges in a dynamic organization. An educational budget compliments your development efforts.
